A Must Have: Pirose Fashion Scarf Review

Cool Avon Spring Fashions

I was looking through the latest campaign for Avon and can't help but to think "wow, they really have become a company for women."  In the past, many year's ago, it was mostly make up, body care and perfumes.  The choices for fashion and jewelry are incredible especially considering the price.

Here is what caught my eye:



The shirts, the shoes, the pants and scarf make such a great fashionable ensemble.  The prices are incredible too.

This is another one of my favorites:



I'm partial to those shoes although I don't think I'm young enough to wear a dress like that.  It looks amazing!

I haven't ordered any fashion items from Avon but some of my few regularly purchased products are:

Thinking of Disney This Summer?

I've taken a few trips to Florida over the years and have found my niche in having my cake and eat it too.  My girls, as any child, loves Disney.  I am not too crazy how hard it is to get around park to park if you have a stroller but at the end of the day, it's memories that are irreplaceable.  In the past, I've stayed at hotels and will say that the Disney resorts have some great packages if you time it right and want to stay on the property.  However, I prefer renting a house.  There is nothing like a multi bedroom house with a pool to have at my whim.  Finding the right place is tedious and worrisome especially if you are renting from a company or a person you aren't familiar with.  There are options whether you choose to rent from an individual or a company.

When we first ventured into the house rental option, I was nervous.  I rented directly from a person from Ebay.  I held my breath until we found the place and opened the lock box for the key.  Once I opened the door, I let out a huge sigh of relief and as well as a look of delight when I saw how nice the house was.  Priced at $600 for seven nights, that is far cheaper than a hotel.  I did have to pay extra for pool heat and it took a good 24 hours to warm up so if you rent, make sure you include it in your agreement.  We had a great time trekking over to Disney when we wanted and actually made it there for Star Wars weekend which as a family of Star Wars fans, it was heavenly!

The next time we went, we rented from Florida Spirit Vacation Homes.  The house was beautiful and roomy!  I was disappointed in that the pool had a heavy tarp that I had to pull off, the pool was cold and the filter was not running.  I even double checked with the agent to ensure the heater would be on and was assured it would be.  When I arrived, I had to call and within an hour or two, they were out getting the pool going so that was good customer service.  The only other complaint was the house was too cold and never would warm up.  We did forget my daughter's sweater but they said they would mail it to us.  I would rent again from them.

The next time will be this summer as we gather to welcome my husband home from his year long deployment from Kuwait.  The house looks amazing!  I can't say anything on how it is since it hasn't happened yet but I hope it's as nice as the others.

If you are planning a trip to Orlando, check out renting a house as it's cheaper than a hotel, usually cleaner, more spacious and it allows you to cook your own food thus saving money.  This is a great benefit in having the ability to have a full size kitchen.  They are always roomy enough where you could even invite more to split the bill leaving you more money to spend!  It's the only way I will ever go to Disney!

Creamy Chicken Fajitas

Prep Time: 15 min. | Total Time: 24 min. | Makes: 4 servings.

What You Need:

1		lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1		cup each thin onion slices and green pepper strips
1		tub (10 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Santa Fe Blend Cooking Creme
8		flour tortillas (6 inch), warmed
1		cup KRAFT Mexican Style Finely Shredded Four Cheese

Make It:

Cook chicken and vegetables in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 6 to 7 min. or until chicken is done.

Add cooking creme; cook and stir 2 min.

Spoon down centers of tortillas; top with shredded cheese. Fold over.

Substitute:


Substitute flank steak or pork cutlets for the chicken. 

Creamy Chicken Pot Pie

Prep Time: 10 min. | Total Time: 48 min. | Makes: 8 servings.

What You Need:

1		lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
2		cups frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, corn, green beans, peas,) thawed, drained
1		tub (10 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Savory Garlic Cooking Creme
1		ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 15-oz. pkg.)

Make It:

Heat oven to 400°F.

Cook and stir chicken in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 5 to 6 min. or until chicken is lightly browned. Add vegetables; cook 1 to 2 min. or until heated through. Stir in cooking creme; spoon into 9-inch pie plate.

Cover with crust; seal and flute edge. Cut several slits in crust. Place pie plate on baking sheet.

Bake 25 to 30 min. or until golden brown.

Substitute:


Substitute 2 cups chopped cooked ham for the chicken.

Feeding your children from birth to toddler can be a challenging experience from picking the right bottle, nipple, cup and feeding sets.  Some children are easy and take to any type of product given to them whereas other children are pickier like my kids.  Each of my children have their own unique likes when it came to the bottle and then to the weaning period.  Tommee Tippee is a company that takes their logo Simply Intuitive to something that means they have spent time researching and developing products that are naturally desired by children which makes life easier.  From newborn needs to weaning into toddler ages, they have products to fit the growth.  Tommee Tippee is Britain's number one baby feeding brand and since I'm half English, I'm a fan to brands from the UK.

I was provided a complimentary two pack of the Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Straw Cups in the pink and purple series.  These are stage 3 cups that have advance-flo technology for easy drinking and a unique DURA-STRAW cup for kids that are on the go.  This is a great feature to avoid messes as I don't think there are many kids that never stop moving and encouraging drinking is such a big part in staying hydrated.  The hygiene cover for the straw is another bonus feature in keeping germs from being passed.  I have two children with chronic medical conditions, severe asthma and epilepsy, so keeping them healthy is paramount.  I'm also health conscious and having BPA free containers is vital to what I look for in products for my children.  The insulated base also keeps the drinks at the temperature they should be at for longer periods of time.


One of my children chokes easy so the physicist designed active sensor valve is both sensitive that liquid flows on demand yet stays spill proof.   They are also dishwasher and microwave safe.  Cleaning is also easy since the components are in several pieces to allow for complete cleaning.  I love the concept.  Overall, my kids love the design and I love that it's leak proof!  All of the qualities above also makes it a great cup of choice for little ones.

Spring is Coming!

It's so nice to see the sun shining and the mowers going!  This is a sure sign that spring is coming not to mention those dreadful dandelions popping up everywhere.  I'm excited for the good weather but also disheartened because we have to put our house up to sale and move again.  This time is harder because we purchased a home so we also have to unload it while taking a huge hit with the housing crash.  Being in the Army has been no picnic at all and I've been really surprised at the lack of help we are getting in our current situation.  So is life I suppose.

I took the girls to the ocean over the weekend for a quick trip to let them see the Atlantic.  We lived in Hawaii before so they were honored to see all its glory even though my younger one was born there so she doesn't remember anything.  I am looking forward to leaving Georgia as it's been one thing after another namely the beginning of two chronic medical conditions after living here for nine months.  My three year old was diagnosed with an unknown pulmonary condition that almost led to her death two year's ago and puts her in the hospital at least twice a year when she is hit by a cold.  My seven year old was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy two weeks prior to my younger one.  We have endured numerous hospitalizations and many, many doctor visits.  My own health has been tested as well and with Army care, I cannot say too much of anything positive unfortunately.

It hasn't all been bad here as I do have a new grand daughter and she is a delight!  At four and a half months of age, she is always smiling and is very happy.  My oldest daughter is a true blessing just like the others.  My seven year old also started a non-profit to help other children with epilepsy.  We officially incorporated last November and we won a Pepsi Refresh Grant last fall to make everything happen.  We delivered over 130 bags in Georgia and Florida to children hospitalized.  Jamie loves every delivery and it puts a huge smile on her face.

Today marks the beginning of getting the garage and yard ready for selling the house.  I love the warmer weather but am not looking forward to all the work associated with moving.  I have my fingers crossed that I'll land a great job soon enough and be able to start our next chapter in our adventures!

DiscoveryGirls Month of Giveaways in March

What are the little ways you share happiness with those around you?

The ever loving smile that is generated from happiness is priceless.  It's blissful to say the least.  I have three little ones running around and see it so many times a day.  I'm so thankful for the happiness they give me and can't explain the love of a smile or laughter from a child.  Happiness is such as easy gesture to share that just a smile can change a person's day.  These little things we do is like a process for change as if you ever noticed how a good sales person can make or break your day.  I know if I'm a little cranky, having a genuine nice person to wait on me really impacts my mood which makes me smile which just might make someone else smile.  It's addicting!

I cannot count the many times in a day that I smile or how many times I can generate a smile or happiness with such small things as a hug, a proclamation of love, a quick tweet, a message or just giving a compliment.  When SocialMoms and Hershey's Drops provided this great opportunity to share, I couldn't resist.  With my children, they keep me hopping mostly because my three and seven year olds have chronic medical conditions.  The simplest cold can mean life or death with my three year old and with the epilepsy my seven year old has, life is always a challenge.  We don't let that stop us though as we move forward generating more happiness to others.  My seven year old started a non-profit to give back to children with epilepsy.  We try to deliver bags around four times a year that has toys, things to do, snacks and well wishes for children in the hospital.  Last Christmas, we put little Christmas trees that plugged in and one of the nurses wrote and told us about a mom who teared up once it was plugged in.

Those tears were not of sorrow but of happiness that someone thought about her and her child.  These little tokens of love bring smiles to so many faces.  It just doesn't stop there as her family is so proud of her and that makes them glow with love.  The fun part also is picking up more people to join us in this endeavor.  Just like smiling is contagious, good deeds are as well.

There are so many things that generate happiness and anything from giving a wonderful piece of chocolate to your friend or loved one to a bag full of goodies to remind someone you are thinking of them, makes all the difference in the world.  It just takes a second in some instances but the joy brought to that unexpected person is worth all the chocolate in the world .... just as my kids who LOVE Hersheys!
