Snort, Giggle & Play with Peppa Pig Toys Now Available in US

You may not snort, giggle and play like Peppa Pig and her family do but my girls do!  I can admit, I wasn't overly crazy about listening to Peppa Pig and her family snorting especially Pappa Pig but my girls laugh every time because they know how I feel.  My girls have enjoyed the adventures of Peppa and her brother George for some time and they have learned some different words from across the pond such as petro.  Peppa Pig, until now, has only been available on television or on DVD so when the girls received this delightful box of Peppa Pig toys, you would have thought it was Christmas.  What makes these toys so special is it's the first time they are being offered in the United States!  Unfortunately, I don't know where my mom's side of her family is in the United Kingdom so I couldn't rely on them to send some over.  Now, no one has to because the Peppa Pig line of toys are here!

My five year old has latched on to the Fisher Price Peppa Pig toysets and fights with her two year old niece who equally fell instantly for them. They are perfect for little fingers and offer a variety of make believe to play.  Danielle, my five year old, loves the tree swing she can put Peppa Pig in or the little hop scotch matt.  My grandbaby likes the little picnic basket along with the other figures.  They both also want the Peppa Pig plush doll because she's bright and cuddly.  Even my nine year old got into the act of playing with the tea set and cups.  When they drink from the cups, they bottom is in the shape of a pig's snout so they all have cute little piggy noses.  

The entire package was perfectly complete with an addition of the new Peppa Pig the Lost Christmas List which is perfect for the holidays coming.  It's perfect length for bedtime and it's engaging as what child doesn't love Santa?  The story is cute and the illustrations are vibrant and cute.  The DVD contains 10 peppasodes which I found as clever for them to list the episodes like that.  Now, they can watch Peppa Pig anytime they want.

These are must haves if your child loves or even likes Peppa Pig.  If your child hasn't seen Peppa Pig, she's on television and now you can get these cute playsets at stores such as Toys-R-Us and other retailers.  My five year old has played with them every day since we received them.

Our LeapFrog Touch Magic Rock 'n Learn Party

We are a very proud LeapFrog family from two Leapsters, one LeapPad and numerous games, I value the educational and entertainment aspect LeapFrog provides my children.  I look to LeapFrog as a trusted source of fun for my girls as well as a way to learn and enhance their education.  We had an opportunity to host a LeapFrog Touch Magic Rock 'n Learn party with two Touch Magic Rockin' Guitars and a Touch Magic Learning Bus.  These are great tools if you have children of preschool age who like music.  

The LeapFrog Touch Magic Rockin' Guitars provide musical fun while giving them an edge in developing their preschool skills.  What is extra special about the guitars, the child can play solo or with a  band playing those timeless classics like Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pop goes the Weasel and many more.  After the performance, they can even hear applause.  It's lightweight and easy to use for those little fingers.  Recommended for ages three and up, it's the ideal learning toy to introduce them to music, enhances social skills and uses motor skills for development.  

The LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus provides fun the old fashion way with learning songs tied in with the alphabet while building early vocabulary and motor skills.  When you have older children and  younger children, they are always envious of the school bus which makes this learning toy a great feature in attracting those little ones to play.  It provides three different modes to enhance their experience with letter exploration and music, sing-along and learning.  It's also perfect size and not too heavy.  Recommended for ages two and up, it's the ideal learning tool for the preschool age.

Of course, we had to try it out before the party and get familiar with both the Touch Magic Rockin' Guitar and the Touch Magic Learning Bus.  Elizabeth, who will be two in about three weeks, loves them! She immediately starting bopping her head to the sound of the music.  Danielle, five, even liked them.  Music seems to draw children in so combining learning with music is always a win-win.  For the party, we were able to set up some games, a talent contest with practice and dress up time.  Who doesn't like a Preschool American Idol after all?  This was the fun part to say the least!  

After the invitations were sent, we readied the party with prizes the winner, a set up stage and made up our food list.  I had cookie cutter guitars and a cake shaped guitar mold from a previous party which made excellent cookies and cake for the theme.  Parties is our forte so the ideas were endless with giving the kids something fun yet educational.

All in all, we had a great time.  We still love LeapFrog and are grateful for the opportunity to host this party.

Dinosaur World (Kentucky, Texas & Florida) Giveaway - US - 9/20

We had the great privilege of visiting Dinosaur World in Plant City, FL recently with free passes. It was quite the exciting experience for my little ones who arrived with wide-eyes and full of anticipation getting to see over 150 life-sized dinosaurs!

The dinosaurs here are very impressive, especially in the newer section they just built this past year. The natural environment they are set in as you walk along the path makes it so realistic. Check out this ferocious looking bunch!  For those of you who are interested in visiting,  Dinosaur World has three great locations nationwide:

• Cave City, Kentucky
• Glen Rose, Texas
• Plant City, Florida

You can find out more information at www.dinosaurworld.com.  We began our journey walking out into a large open area with giant dinos and beautiful landscaping. To my little one's delight, we came upon a Preschool/Toddler playland area almost immediately - full of brightly colored dinosaur-themed slides and ride on equipment. They even had toddler safe swings for my 18 month old to enjoy, although my five year old wanted to swing on them too. Lol.

My daughter's conclusion to whether the Preschool/Toddler play area at Dinosaur World was a hit? I'll let you be the judge. :)

Here you can see a larger playground with dinosaur themed climbing equipment designed for older children in the elementary age group. You won't run short of great picture opps at Dinosaur World! Make sure to bring the camera! :)

This one reminds my teen son of that scene in Jurassic Park with this dino. He enjoyed reading all the name plates and searching for interesting details he may not have known.

Plenty of spaces available under the shelter of this cute little picnic area to bring your own lunch or snacks and take a short break. Something that may be a big hit with the elementary aged kids is the giant puzzle you can take apart and put together located near the picnic area. For my homeschool and education-minded readers, the little details included on the information plates in front of every dino are very helpful for inquiring minds.

Here is a fun little activity you can do with your child called Touch and Tell which stretches along a portion of the park after the picnic area. It has several fun lift the flap types of games to play and even a touch and guess game to figure out what is hiding in the hole behind the wood. Here is a peek at one my daughter was playing.

Dinosaur World is also one of the only pet friendly parks in Florida. They have drinking stations in the park just for your pet! How cool and thoughtful!

 

This is the BoneYard which is a super big sand pit with a huge dinosaur skeleton for the little ones to enjoy uncovering with all the shovels and brushes Dinosaur World makes available for them to use while playing here. There are bleacher seats available to one side for the parents to sit and rest on while the little ones play. The sand pit is in a covered shelter so the sun doesn't beat down on them while they are playing.

The park has so many great activities that offer hours of entertainment for the whole family. We highly recommend a walk through the museum near the exit before you leave - to experience their new live animatronic dinosaurs! Even my 18 month old loved them and wasn't afraid! That was surprising!

It was impressive to see all the workmanship and detail that went into the making of these dinosaur statues. My family is really into drama and so in conclusion, my husband decided to help set the mood for your future visit to Dinosaur World.  You can follow each individual Dinosaur World park on Facebook or follow the one you are closest to. It is also recommended to follow them on Twitter. Dinosaur World has special events and sales promotions quite often! You won't want to miss them.
