Deals and Discounts in San Antonio with SAVE

San Antonio really is a hot spot in Texas and has so much to offer.  I was there in June and had no idea how big it really is.  I also didn't know a lot about it so I didn't know what there was to do other than Sea World and the Alamo and had no idea where to save.  I wished I knew about SAVE – San Antonio Vacation Experience for a listing of all the great deals and discounts.  If you are like me, you hunt for a deal and that can be daunting after awhile and if you end up getting frustrated, you just succumb to the deal you find last.  If you are heading out soon, there are also some great Limited Time Offers to help save you some money at leading hotels such as the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk and many more.

 

 

If you don't know what to do when you get there, there are even great deals and discounts on the major attractions like SeaWorld, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Schlitterbahn, Splashtown, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, San Antonio Botanical Garden, & more!  For our next trip, here is my plan:

• Stay at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio for a savings of $34 minimally a night which ends up being over $135 for a four night stay!
• Visit the Alamo IMAX Theater Rivercenter as my children can get in free which is a $28 savings.
• We must visit the Alamo of course!  With Save, we would save $4 for the kids.
• The kids would love to visit Laser Legend and with SAVE, we would get a free game for a savings of $8.
• No trip is complete without a trip to the San Antonio Zoo and we get to save $2 per ticket for a savings of $8!
• I've always wanted to ride in a helicopter and with a 10% savings, that's a $27 savings.

Overall, by using SAVE, we would save over $200!

New Carmex Pomegranate Flavor Sticks & Giveaway 8/7

Although summer feels half over especially since we are already seeing back to school sales and the shelves are stocked, there is still plenty of hot sweltering weather to endure.  The air where I live is so dry so I'm always battling dry lips and no matter what I use on them, it doesn't help long term.  I knew I had some Carmex but due to my recent move, I wasn't able to find them until a few weeks ago and I finally found relief.  Today, I received six Carmex sticks and a nice beach tote.  The new flavor, pomegranate, is nice!  It doesn't have an overwhelming scent, doesn't go on greasy, sticky or thick and has left my lips smooth and moist.  

I'm already a pomegranate fan so this was a winner with me.  The six sticks arrived in the following flavors:

1. Pomegranate
2. Original
3. Strawberry
4. Vanilla
5. Lime Twist
6. Cherry

You may not know but Carmex sticks have an SPF of 15 which is essential in good lip health in my opinion.  Years ago as a kid, I suffered severe burns on my lips so I understand the importance of protecting your lips from the sun.  My girls and I are always using lip balms but I can honestly say that Carmex is the one that really works and heals tough to treat damage.  When we head out to the desert, I always grab a stick of Carmex to throw in the bag and apply it to the girls lips ahead of time.  It works!

Tooth Fairy, Homeschooling and Changes

My youngest just turned five but she shouldn't have turned five until later this month except she was early.  Due to her medical conditions, she is tiny for her age.  I sometimes worry about how small she is and hope she will have a growth spurt.  I was encouraged at her doctor visit two times ago as he noted the last growth spurt and even checked her spine to ensure everything was alright.  She just lost her second bottom tooth and it's so so tiny.  I was afraid it would be lost before the Tooth Fairy could exchange it for some money.  She's so excited about losing her teeth as any child is.  My nine year old caught on to the excitement and decided a couple of her permanent teeth were loose which I quickly explained how that would be impossible so she left them alone.  Relief!

I can't believe it's mid July already and I've been working feverish in getting my nine year old enrolled in a virtual academy.  I already have curriculums but since I'm returning to the work force, I need something to help.  My oldest, her fiance and my grand baby are going to move with me to help take care of the girls when I have to work and travel which is a huge relief.  I can't put them in regular school or daycare due to my five year's old immune system and lungs.  Every time she catches a cold, it results in a trip to the ER and/or hospitalization so I have to keep them healthy.  When my nine year old first started public school and for the first three years, we were constantly sick and my five year old nearly succumbed down in a children's hospital in Savannah.  Since I started homeschooling, they rarely get sick. They never get the flu shot or anything like that and they have been remarkably healthy.


As I embark on returning to the professional work force, I face new challenges again. Parenting while working is hard especially when it all falls on your shoulders but luckily, my oldest, who is 24, will be there to help.  Time to dust off the suits, the heels and the suitcases!

This British-made stroller is very popular in Europe and is sold only in exclusive stores here in the US.
