Embracing a Healthy Family

Go2 Bras by Lipo in a Box Review

I dread looking for bras because they either don't fit right or are uncomfortable.  I have so many from different manufacturers and most don't fit the way that I like.  Trying to find one that provides the right coverage without have "booblage" hang over or that doesn't feel like your grandmother's ... oh wait, I'm a grandmother now so that's not always true.  Nonetheless, finding one that is comfortable especially if you are large chested can be a challenge as it seems so many bras have the built in boobs to increase your size.  What I like from a bra is coverage, comfort and fit.  I received a complimentary Tiffany bra from Go2 Bras and Panties which is part of the Lipo in a Box and Underology trio of fantastic women products made by a woman.

"TIFFANY" Go2 Bra by Lipo in a Box

As you can see by the picture of me wearing it (yeah, right!  I wish that was me), it's very delicate and pretty.  It is seamless which allows you to wear under any garment especially tank tops and t-shirts.  The vintage style straps and delicate lining of lace provide a pretty, dainty feature to this practical bra.   The cups are lined with a microfiber material that provides a smooth appear without showing how cold you might be which is something I want from a bra.    The back is reinforced so no dangers of busting lose in the most inopportune places.

They are available in many colors and up to DDDD sizes.

  1. Pink
  2. Black
  3. Blue Print
The nice thing about the Tiffany and the other bras available from Go2 Bras and Panties are the matching panties you can purchase.

I recommend the Tiffany bra from Go2 Bras and Panties due to the comfort, fit, price and the great customer service.

MyPleasure Romantic Spa Kit Review

MyPleasure Sex Toys

With fall and winter approaching quickly, I keep thinking what a wonderful weekend would mean to me.  I love spending all my time with my girls but I also wouldn't mind an occasional weekend night with just relaxing and enjoying my mate.  I've never been one to be able to do that but always read about the importance of how it can enhance your marriage by doing so.  MyPleasure is a maker of adult toys and much more.

Romantic Spa Kit

My experiences with MyPleasure started last year when I was able to have a giveaway and this time, I received a complimentary Romantic Spa Kit.  The kit is full of an array of products to give you a special night of pampering.  It includes:

  • Black satin storage bag to hold all everything included in the kit.
  • Four unscented, white tealight candles for that perfect glow to set the mood
  • Four pronged massager with a tropical massage cream - who wouldn't like a nice back rub?
  • Tropical Escape bubble bath and a natural loofah sponge - wait, I might want this just for myself!
  • The coconut scoop allows you to pour the scented water.

Pro's:
  • Great quality and low price
  • The fragrances from the bubble bath and massage cream were not overpowering or intoxicating - perfect
  • Having the candles be unscented is nice as not everyone likes scented candles and with being unscented, they didn't take away from the other scents.
  • The loofah sponge was of good quality and not a cheap version
  • Packaged in a nice carrying bag for easy movement and storage
  • Arrived in discreet packaging

Con's:
  • None

I would recommend the Romantic Spa Kit for any couple wanting to add a little extra fun or pampering to their evenng.  Whether it's just a quiet time at home or a night away, this is a perfect set to take due to the size and convenience.  It's very tasteful and of high quality.

PurpleTrail’s Holiday Blogger Giveaway

The holidays are coming and I've already been planning.  I ordered my girl's dresses for the personalized holiday cards and parties about a month ago and I've already been planning for what this year's cards will look like.  Every detail has to be planned from the presents to the cards to the wrapping paper.  I love an elegant but traditional look.  I go to great lengths in finding products that fit me as a person as well as our family.

When I start thinking about our cards, I try to go to the extra level of not just selecting an ordinary card rather something to treasure or a pre-gift.  Mom Bloggers Club announced a fun new giveaway from PurpleTrail for their personalized holiday cards.  PurpleTrail is having an exciting new giveaway on sharing five ways you make your holiday cards unique.  This is a great way to learn about other great ideas that other bloggers do to create that special card for the holidays.  I can't wait to see what others do.

Here are some of the ways I make our cards special and I try to expand each year to change them up and make them a little different.
  1. I include a traditional photo of the girls all pretty in their matching dresses.  I also include a fun photo such as a photoshop of adding reindeer antlers on them.  This year, I have a new grand baby so the photo experience will be even more memorable.
  2. With PurpleTrail, I can even send cards electronically and add cool effects like snowfall, music and voice recordings.  This will allow me to have the girls since a Christmas carol which will make it more memorable for those with internet access.  This is perfect for my husband who is stationed in Kuwait and my dear friend in Australia.
  3. I order custom stamps for the addresses with a cute Christmas saying and our mailing information along with personalized postage stamps.  The choices for stamps are amazing and they really can jazz up an envelope.
  4. The girls and I make a photo ornament the we include in the card.  There are very inexpensive ways to make crafty items like ornaments.  It's also a fun project for kids to participate in knowing they created a little holiday magic themselves.
  5. We hand write the closing to keep it personal instead of pre-printed.  Another great choice with PurpleTrails is utilizing the back of the card for more items.  Whether it's another picture or a cute Christmas saying, the cards can be made to reflect your family.
This is my example card I created and it looked gorgeous online due to the snow fall effect.  Every aspect of the card can be personalized and there are many other special effects that can be added.  These cards will stand out as being unique and special.

To me, making Christmas special in every aspect is the fun part of Christmas.  Being able to personalize and add that extra bit of effort shows my loved ones that I really do care.  It was fun creating my PurpleTrail Christmas card and now I'm heading back to have more fun and see what else I can do!

I am participating in a giveaway for PurpleTrail.com and it makes me eligible for a PurpleTrail gift code.  You can join in and win too by clicking here for the contest page for additional information: http://www.purpletrail.com/blogcontests

lotus® Home Cleaning System Gift Guide

The lotus® patent technology infuses cold tap water with an extra oxygen atom, creating a natural sanitizer. By passing air through 4,500 volts of electricity, the lotus® system splits oxygen molecules into atoms and forces this extra atom to combine and form liquefied ozone. The third oxygen atom becomes the sanitizing agent, a natural oxidant -- which kills bacteria and viruses, and neutralizes pesticides.

Lotus Home Cleaning System Review: Clean Green & Save Money

With all the attention on the environment and better health, there are new products emerging using basic scientific principles.  This is a win-win also given the economy as everyone needs to save money.  Cleaning products can be costly and not necessarily good for your health.  I've been fortunate to try out some new products that test the ability of just water which is what this post focuses on.  I received a complimentary Lotus Home Cleaning System to try.  If you are like me, you haven't heard of the Lotus Home Cleaning System until now.

Here is how it works (straight from the website):

The lotus® patent technology infuses cold tap water with an extra oxygen atom, creating a natural sanitizer. By passing air through 4,500 volts of electricity, the lotus® system splits oxygen molecules into atoms and forces this extra atom to combine and form liquefied ozone. The third oxygen atom becomes the sanitizing agent, a natural oxidant -- which kills bacteria and viruses, and neutralizes pesticides.

Ways this products differs from others on the market:

  1. No expensive or toxic cleaning products required
  2. Versatile as it can be used to clean and sanitize surfaces (spray bottle) or the bowl for things such as sponges, toothbrushes, baby toys, etc
  3. The bowl can also be utilized to remove pesticides from food as well as clean them
One feature I also like is it kills molds and mildew and having a child with severe allergies and asthma, this is a plus for me.

Summary of Pro's & Con's:
  1. Easy to set up - insert cartridge, set up bowl or spray bottle
  2. Uses plain tap water
  3. Comes with two microfiber cleaning cloths which are nice for picking up dirt and dust
  4. Works on nearly all surfaces and types of products (home, garage, vehicle, etc)
  5. Website is fully equipped with helpful hints and tips to include foods with highest contamination/pesticide risks
  6. Eliminates 99.9% of germs
  7. Received many award winning test results (here)
  8. I had some difficulty in getting it to work.  There are very basic, simple instructions to follow and I don't know what I did to get it to work but it did.
  9. It's a little noisy but extremely tolerable
Overall, I love the system mostly due to the versatility of it.  It doubles as a cleaner and a pesticide/contaminate cleaner for foods.  I also like the idea of not having to purchase cleaners which saves money, clean for the environment and no harsh chemicals.  The ability to chose the timing of the cycles per the item requiring to be cleaned is also a big bonus.

I've sanitized/cleaned the following:
  • Toothbrushes - they looked cleaner and brighter
  • Invisalign braces - they looked much better and I felt much better about wearing them
  • Potatoes - I saw the difference via the water on the extra dirt it removed in spite of rinsing them off
  • Grapes - the residue was gone and they looked much better or at least I had a better peace of mind
  • Dusted many surfaces (cloth picture below) and it definitely picked up the dirt
I would recommend the Lotus Home Cleaning System.  For more information, click here for:

What's Your Pepperidge Farm's Milano Moment? Help Raise Easy Money for Susan G. Komen

Pepperidge Farm has this great special for helping the Susan G. Komen for the Cure by easily raising donations for this great cause.  It costs you nothing but could save the lives of others with the funds raised.  Pepperidge Farm's donation incentive continues through the month of October .

When someone posts a personal Milano Moment on Milano's Facebook Page in October, Pepperidge Farm will donate $.50 per Moment up to $50,000.  It's easy to do and those .50 cent moments can really add up.

Sharing a Milano moment is easy as life is full of wonderful sweet moments.  I have so many that it's hard to pinpoint just one.  Between the birth of my children to the recent birth of my first grand child, I have lived many Milano moments.  One of my favorite Milano moments is learning my 73 year old father's colon cancer was in remission three year's ago.  Cancer is so devastating and unfortunately, colon cancer runs in our family.  My maternal great grandmother had breast cancer and luckily no one else has.  Watching my father endure his dual radiation and chemotherapy was amazing.  He was a trooper through it all and instead of feeling sorry for himself, he felt sorry for the patients he sat with each day who were much worse them him.   He managed to try to make them smile, he lent them an ear to listen to and was a ray of light during a dismal time for them.  He's an inspiration.

My oldest loves Milano cookies and can't say no.  The rich thin layer of chocolate sandwiched between those tasty shortbread cookies are delightful.

What's your Milano moment?  Take a moment and share on Pepperidge Farm's Facebook page and feel good knowing it will help a wonderful cause.  Thank you for helping!

Fall is coming along with the holidays which I just love!  I always think of ways I can spruce up the house or add some new life to what I have.  For as long as I can remember, I wanted a bar or one of those tables that allowed for a bar stool to fit under them but I've never had the opportunity.   There are so many great selection to choose from and they can really make a difference in your decor.  One of my favorite places to shop and browse is CSN Stores.

Genetically Modified Foods (GMO): Do You Know?

Have you been reading anything about Genetically Modified Foods or GMO they are referred to?  Since I have two children with chronic conditions as well as a desire to try to get healthier, I've been reading more and more about them.  I have always thought that when man tinkers with something that is naturally there, it most likely leads to bad things.  The same is emerging about GMO foods.  The problem with all this new technology and emerging technology is long lasting implications.  We're not talking about immediate reactions rather years down the road and even within what we pass on genetically.

For years, pharmaceuticals have been giving our animals various vaccinations, antibiotics and growth hormone type drugs such as cows to increase faster milk production.  Ever wonder if this same hormone they gave to cows to speed up milk production sooner in cows and increase output stays in the milk supply?  Wonder if our children are hitting puberty sooner because of this?  How about nine year old little, tiny girls having a chest?  It might be coincidental but I have said for years that it seems particular.  I used to work at a pharmaceutical and audited data for this very type of drug.

Now, we have the emerging markets of GMO where we take food and genetically alter them to produce other frankenfoods.  Seen the broccoli and cauliflower mixes in the story?  Cute at first glance isn't it?   Two for one vegetables.  An example GMO are some corn crops that are genetically altered to resist pests.  What does this really mean?  What type of pesticide is being used internally to stave off the pests?   According to the Dr. Mercola study, these internal pesticides causes the pests' stomachs to split and kills them once they take a bite of this corn.  You can read more about the work of Jeffrey Smith here.

There are noted studies done that show that immune systems are affected thus increasing allergic reactions to other foods.  The article continues with reported adverse events with this particular genetically altered pesticide which to me is scary.  This is also just one example of a GMO.  Here is a shopping guide if interested in trying to avoid some of these frankenfoods.

The big four GMO crops are: corn, soybeans, canola and cotton.

October is national Non-GMO month.

Post a Pepperidge Farms Milano Moment & Help Susan G. Korman

Have those moments that you savor along with something that tastes great?  Whenever I savor a moment, I like to mix in something great tasting that has chocolate in it.  My oldest daughter is about to make me a grandmother.  She's upstairs bearing through contractions right now waiting to rush back to the hospital.  I've had many Milano moments but this one is her moment too.  It's coincidental as she loves Milano cookies so what better way to help spread the word on this wonderful One2One Network campaign but to link it to a real time savory moment with my daughter!

Here is where you come in:

When you share a Milano moment on Pepperidge Farm's Facebook page, they will donate .50 to Susan G. Korman for the Cure.

Let's raise the roof and share this wonderful opportunity to raise money for an important cause while not costing you a cent.
