Ficklets for Children's Summer Time Wardrobe

Happy Ficklets Wearers!! With summer here, your kids are probably spending more time outside and even playing sports.  My eight year old has glasses and is also into making herself be on the cutting edge.  Glasses are fairly standard and although there are some kids designs, nothing really stood out until this amazing new product was created called Ficklets.  Ficklets are the creation of one mom trying to help her daughter like her glasses a little bit more.  They are cute little shapes that affix to glasses easily and are interchangeable and inexpensive which is a bonus in this economy.

The choices are sure to make your child happy and to be honest, I think some of the shapes are ideal to make your own glasses look cool.  Whether your child likes animals, various shapes, flowers, sports and more, the possibilities are endless.

About the Inventor, Ros Guerrero:

Hi I'm Ros Guerrero, owner and inventor of Ficklets, the first patented interchangeable eyewear charm hugger. I’m glad you’re here and thank you for your interest in the story behind our product.

To be honest, I’m a little surprised that my “couch potato” idea has come this far. Ficklets was inspired by my teen special needs daughter, Gem, who has worn glasses since she was six. I endearingly refer to my invention as my "couch potato" (instead of kitchen table) idea because the idea came to me as I was sitting on the couch one evening watching one of my favorite business shows, when Gem walked into the room and all I could see were her eyeglasses. As I focused on her eyeglasses, it got me thinking - “Wow, we need to add some color and life to your tired, old glasses.” This, I believe, was my ‘a-ha’ moment.

I outlined different ideas, but quickly realized an interchangeable charm was the way to go. A girl would want something versatile to mix and match with her outfits, right? I developed a working charm and had Gem wear it to school for the first time. That day, to my delight, she brought home a note from her teacher regarding all the positive attention the charm had received from the students and staff. This was when I thought I might be on to something.

Having so much fun changing out the charms each day for Gem, the word "fickle", which means to "change often", quickly came to mind when I started to brainstorm for a product name. As I worked to refine and expand my prototype designs, I deliberated more on the word fickle to come up with a made-up name, a tip I learned from Sara Blakely, the inventor of Spanx. After a few sleepless nights and several scribbled pages, the name "Ficklets" was born. We launched our website and filed patent in spring 2007; subsequently awarded patent in September 2009.

I would be remiss if I didn't re-mention and give sole credit to my daughter for planting the entrepreneurial spirit in me. It's been my mission to build a business that would not only create opportunities for Gem to give her a sense of normalcy, but also to create a business that would provide for her to live a quality life long after I’m gone. In my quest to start a business, I've dabbled in various ventures over the years, but it was by accident that I stumbled on the Ficklets idea. Since then my entrepreneurial passion has soared like never before… I knew this was IT!

It's fulfilling to live a life where I am creative and productive with a purpose, and I'm grateful to Gem for inspiring me to grow as a mom and entrepreneur. Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about Ficklets and Gem.

A fun, fashionable, fresh twist to eyeglasses!

As Easter approaches, I can't help but think what a wonderful day to dress up and embrace all that Easter stands for.  Whether you are going on an Easter egg hunt, a family function or church, getting dressed up is fun.  This post is focusing on two of my favorite mompreneurs:  Ficklets and Adorable Baby Clothing.

Ficklets are becoming the greatest invention for kid's eyeglasses since they give them the ability to personalize without breaking the bank.  They are interchangeable and easy to wear, inexpensive to buy and will make your little one happy.  My niece loves her Ficklets.

Ficklet's inventor, Ros Guerrero, came up with this great idea as she tried to meet the needs of her beautiful daughter, Gem.  The word "ficklet" means to change a lot hence the wonderful creation of Ficklets was born.  You can read more here.  Ficklets is not only innovative in the idea and creation of Ficklets but Ros is the most compassionate, caring person I've met.  She provides wonderful customer service and is hands on.

Ficklets is becoming international hit too:

“I’ve quickly learned that eyeglass charms transcend style and cultural differences because I’m seeing orders pour in from customers around the world, including the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Venezuela, Dubai, Ireland and Russia,” says Guerrero. “This means children of any nationality are able to feel more confident when wearing their eyeglasses. The future is wide open for Ficklets.”

Ficklets For Kids and Fashionable Women

I have posted before about Ficklets and I keep posting because I think it's such a great product!  Growing up with glasses, I remember the stigma behind them and how uncooll they were.  The choices back in the day of the dinosaurs, well maybe not that long ago, were not fun and in fact, they were downright ugly.  Kids have so many choices but never had they had the choice to customize their glasses with cute, adorable, fashionable and sporty charms like they do now.

Many of the Ficklets are catered towards girls which is where I'd expect the desire to come from as let's face it, us girls are stylish and fashionable.  There are choices for boys such as if he is an avid basketball, baseball, football or soccer fan.  The skulls under holidays would appeal to most boys too!

For the girls, there are so many choices ranging from flowers, hearts, ballet shoes, animals, stars, food to shapes.  I love the exotic animals and can imagine a little boy or girl sporting panda bears or giraffes on their frames.

Ficklets were created to fit on the template area of the frames.  They are easily attached and can be exchanged for a new set at anytime.  The cost allows a parent to buy more than one set thus increasing the likelihood your child will be excited to wear their glasses.

The selection under "classic" are very appealing to the tween, teen or older woman.  They are stylish, elegant and add such a nice sublte bling factor that you can't pass up.  I had to have some and they make my glasses look amazing!

If you have a child who wears glasses or wear glasses yourself, check out http://www.ficklets.com/ and you won't be disappointed.  The brilliant owner, Ros, is amazing and wonderful and great to work with!

THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO ENTERED!

It's always nice to be able to project an image that is fitting of your personality and style.  Many products cater to this ability to apply fashion with your style but one new unique way is through charms that hug your eyelgasses.  I was first introduced to this creative way of putting a little jazz or personality into something that is an everyday feature of your face.  Ficklets is a great new product that will not only excite your child about wearing eyeglasses but is also a great way to let them grow individually.  There were even charms that I liked given the beauty and classiness of them.

Ros Guerrero, is not only a mom but the founder and creator, of this great idea to allow children to change their glasses based on their likes and even their hobbies.  Ficklets are so inexpensive, they can choose to have a wardrobe to match their clothing, their events or however they are feeling for the day.  Ficklets were created based on the inspiration of a 14 year old special needs girl, Gem, who was unhappy with wearing glasses.  Since having Ficklets, all that has changed!  To read more about Ros or Gem, click HERE.

I received the yellow daisies (pictured above) and they were just as cute as the picture shows.  They fit perfect on my niece's glasses and she loved them.  They really are nice and as I already noted, are very inexpensive.  She wants more and all her friends at school love them.  I would recommend them to anyone given the variety of choices.

There are animals, flowers, misc. styles to include holidays and other fun shapes and sports and arts.  For the older child or even adult, there is this nice variety:

The detail doesn't show up as well in my picture.  The stones accentuate the charms perfectly adding a classy look.

Ficklets are so easy to attach to the glasses.  They attack to the temple of the frame by a band but only fit up to a size 7 mm wide frame so make sure the glasses will work.  Per the Ficklets' site, if you have wire frames, just wrap the band twice or twist.  It's that easy!

This really is a great way to encourage your child to like their glasses and wear them.  It might even make them feel better about themselves knowing they can show off a little bit of their fashion style.

Ficklets: Must Have Accessory for Children Wearing Eyeglasses

I have been tweeting a lot about Ficklets because I think it's a great self esteem builder for kids.  Ficklets is a new way to personalize and jazz up what would appears to be ordinary glasses.  These adorable eyewear charm huggers offers children a unique perspective in putting a little of themselves on something they wear every day.

As a mother to three girls, I see the impact feeling good about themselves has on them as individuals.  None of my girls wears glasses but I do to read and at an early age, I was forced to wear them.  I hated them and seeing my niece having to wear them at the age of 12, I understand how self esteem can play an important role in such a delegate age.  Ficklets are innovative, inexpensive and such a great way to empower kids to be creative.

If you haven't checked them out yet, go to ficklets.com and see the great selection you can choose from.  Better yet, enter the giveaway and you can win a set here.

*Disclaimer:  I have not been compensated for this post.  I received a set via a prior giveaway I entered and love them.
